"Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future." ~John F. Kennedy
We find ourselves here at Northside in a time of transition, a time of change. Over the last couple of decades, our congregation has undergone numerous changes, some positive and some negative enough to leave some lasting scars. Too often we, as many do, have focused on the scars. Slights and hurts remembered too often interfere with seeing the opportunities that lie before us. China Mieville writes, "Scars are not injuries, .... A scar is a healing. After injury, a scar is what makes you whole."
As we begin this new era at Northside church of Christ, we are greatly looking forward to living in the present and working towards the future. It is stated in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18: 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
We are excited to welcome Chris Wheat, his wife Melanie, and his daughters, Robyn (4) and Clara (2). Chris brings a rare combination of traits to the pulpit and to the congregation. If you've not met them yet, you are missing out!
If you are looking for a church home, come visit us! We know there are individuals in our area that are looking for a place to belong and to be loved. We look forward to sharing our time of change and transition with you! More importantly, we look forward to sharing the Word of God and studying with you!
